Why Imja Tse Called Island Peak?
In Sherpa languages the peak called Imja Tse later Edmind Hillary and team called it "easiest trekking peak" and originally climbed in 1953 by their team who were testing the oxygen apparatus before going to Everest Expedition. Since the Sagarmatha National is getting popular amoung the trekkers and explorar,They saw Island peak on the sea of Ice looking from Dingboche. Since that time it is called Island Peak.

Day 1: Chhukung to Island Peak Base Camp
After a warm breakfast at Chhukung, begin your trek to Island Peak Base Camp accompanied by your climbing guide and support team. The trail offers stunning views of Lhotse Shar, Island Peak, Peak 38, Ama Dablam, and Imja Tse Lake. The trek to base camp takes approximately 4 hours and follows a rocky and scenic trail.
Upon arrival at base camp, enjoy lunch and rest briefly. In the afternoon, take part in a climbing training session with your guide. You’ll learn about the technical aspects of the climb, potential challenges, and how to deal with extreme conditions.
Day 2:Summit Day – Base Camp to Island Peak Summit (6,189m) and Return.
The summit push begins early—around 2:00 AM-under the stars. The trail to High Camp is relatively easy and smooth. However, as you ascend higher, the terrain becomes more challenging, as expected in a high-altitude mountain environment.
With determination and the support of your guide, you’ll reach the summit of Island Peak (6,189 meters). Take a moment to celebrate your achievement, enjoy the panoramic Himalayan views, and capture some photos at the top. After the summit, begin your descent back to Base Camp. The descent can be more physically demanding than the climb, so it’s important to stay focused and pace yourself carefully.
Upon arrival at Base Camp, enjoy a hot lunch. On the same day, you can trek back to Chhukung or Dingboche, depending on your physical condition and remaining energy.
