Ganesh Himal Singla Pass Trek:- An Undiscovered Gem in Central Nepal

Let’s go on an adventure and explore a hidden treasure of the Himalayas — the Ganesh Himal Singla Pass Trek. While it may not get attention like that of Everest or Annapurna routes, this trail offers one of Nepal’s most enriching trekking experiences. Traversing the high-altitude passes of Singla (4,050 m), Pangsang (3,850 m), and Mangni, following the untouched Tamang and Gurung settlements on higher altitudes, gorgeous terraced farms, and marvelous scenery of majestic mountains, this route takes you deep into the heart of the Manaslu trekking region, home to the majestic Ganesh Himal.

Named after Lord Ganesh, the elephant-headed deity symbolizing prosperity and wisdom, Ganesh Himal stands as a sacred and awe-inspiring peak. The trek takes you through ethnic villages, vibrant farming fields, and serene alpine meadows, offering intimate glimpses into local life and tradition. With a maximum elevation of 4,200 meters, this trek remains accessible in most seasons.

Ganesh Himal Singla Pass Trek Highlights

  • Venture into the untouched Himalayan wilderness, reaching elevations up to 4200m
  • Panoramic views of Ganesh Himal, Langtang, Manaslu, Hiunchuli, and Bouddha Himal
  • Cross the scenic and remote Singla Pass (4050m)

What the Singla Pass Trek Offers

This trail is a kaleidoscope of visual and spiritual banquets. Reach Singla Pass and trekkers are rewarded with exquisite views of towering peaks and surrounding valleys. The path winds through forests of blooming rhododendrons, home to over 526 species of plants, including 40 species of orchids, and more than 300 species of birds.

The trek also leads to sacred natural sites such as Ganesh Kunda, Parvati Kunda, and the mystical Seto and Kale lakes, revered in both Hindu and Buddhist traditions. Wildlife sightings — including Himalayan Tahr,Gaur, musk deer, and playful monkeys — add a touch of excitement to the journey. The region is also known for its deposits of Ruby and crystals, treasured by locals and collectors alike. It is also known as Ruby Valley. One of the most enriching aspects of this trek is the cultural exchange. Trekking through high-altitude villages, you'll interact with Gurung and Tamang communities, experiencing their traditional architecture, festivals, cuisine, and warm hospitality.

Ganesh Himal Singla Pass Trekking Challenges

The Ganesh Himal Singla Pass trek is an off-the-grid adventure. Due to its remoteness, basic facilities such as teahouses and lodges are scarce or underdeveloped. As a result, this trek is organized as a fully supported camping expedition, with cooks, porters, and all necessary equipment provided. Trekking at altitudes up to 4,200m requires physical fitness and prior trekking experience. With daily walking hours ranging from 5 to 7 hours, participants are advised to prepare physically and mentally for moderate to difficult terrain. However, basic tea houses and home-stay accommodations are developing, which enrich your trek experience.

Ganesh Himal Singla Pass Trek Acclimatization & Preparation

This trek is not recommended for beginners. Altitude and changing weather can be challenging, so proper acclimatization is vital. We recommend engaging in cardio workouts, hiking trips, and altitude conditioning before your journey. Our experienced guides are trained to manage altitude-related issues and emergencies. Your safety is our highest priority — always communicate any discomfort or symptoms to your guide promptly.
