Moreover, in just 7 days you can reach the Base of Everest from Lukla, along with an additional 3 days to return. In addition, for trekkers with time constraints, a shared helicopter flight is also available from Base Camp to Kathmandu. This is a great opportunity for a short holiday experience.
The trekker needs to walk 5 to 7 hours daily on uneven and rugged terrain.
Technical mountaineering skills are not required to reach EBC but proper acclimatization is a must to avoid altitude sickness.
To support this, the itinerary includes two acclimatization days—one at Namche Bazaar (3,440 meters) and another at Dingboche (4,400 meters).
To accomplish the journey, one should be hydrated in these dry areas, so drink plenty of water throughout the journey.
For those seeking a more adventurous and less crowded experience, the EverestThree Pass offers an excellent alternative. This extended version of the Everest Base Camp includes high mountain passes—Kongma La, Cho-La, and Renjo-La—connecting to remote valleys like Gokyo.
