Chulu West Climbing Route
In 1952 Chulu West Peak was First summited by a Japanese team, Chulu West presents a moderate challenge to climbers. Its base camp is located in a small valley above Ledar, en route to the Thorong La Pass (5416m). Ledar serves as the starting point for the climb, with a 4-5 hour trek to the base camp. From there, the route becomes more demanding as climbers ascend to High Camp (Camp I), which requires fixing ropes for safety. The final stretch from High Camp to the summit and back is long and it is generally considered less technical. Look at the picture that shows the reality of the climbing part.

Chulu West Base Camp Accommodation
Climbing Chulu West requires careful planning and preparation. It is recommended to allow 3-4 days for the ascent from Ledat to Summit and back, with adequate rest days to help acclimatize. The route to High Camp involves a strenuous climb, supported by fixed ropes, and the long distance to the summit can be exhausting. While trekking along the Annapurna Circuit, accommodations are typically in tea houses. However, during the climbing portion of the journey, you will stay in two-person tents for 3 nights at base camp and high camp.
