Do you know how difficult the Annapurna Trek is?
The Annapurna Circuit Trek is a moderate to challenging trek. You walk about 5 to 6 hours a day (12-15 km), passing through lush forests, high-altitude deserts, and steep mountain trails. The full trek usually takes 2 to 3 weeks. Beginners should plan for more than 2 weeks, while experienced trekkers can complete it in as few as 9 days.
The Annapurna Circuit trek reaches its highest point at Thorong La Pass (5,416 m), which is physically demanding. Proper acclimatization days are essential to avoid altitude sickness. Common symptoms include headache, nausea, dizziness, and vomiting.
The trail covers a wide range of landscapes, from subtropical forests to alpine meadows and rocky slopes. Thorong La Pass is the most challenging section, especially in winter (December to February), when snow can make the trail slippery and harder to cross.

Milarepa Cave:
Milarepa Cave is another iconic spots in the Annapurna Trekking. Milarepa is a Tibetan Mahasiddha of the 11th century who grew up with a great sense of resentment and anger. Seeking redemption, he became a disciple of the great Buddhist master Marpa, and later he achieved a profound spiritual realization. When Milarepa practiced intense meditation and retreat then this become a most spiritual sites in the Annapurna region. It is about 5 km from Manang toward Annapurna III. Situated at an approximate height of 4100m/13,450 feet in the tranquil atmosphere of Annapurna III. The path to Milarepa Cave passes the diverse landscapes and a century-old monastery.
Visit Gangapurna Lake and Tashi Lakhang Monastery:
Tashi Lakhang Monastery hanging above Manang village (about 500 m), Tashi Lakhang Monastery is one of the oldest monasteries in the area. Follow the scree slope of the yak and goat track to reach the monastery. The Monastery is built in a cave and offers an excellent view of Annapurna II, III and its breathtaking landscape.
Gangapurna Lake, just opposite Manang village across the Marshyangdi River, takes about 45 minutes to walk. Following the screeslope beside the glacier takes you to the upper part of the viewpoint that offers better views.
Tilicho Lake:
Marked as the highest lake in the world (at an altitude of 4919 m) in the Annapurna region of Nepal, Tilicho Lake is a glacier-fed turquoise lake popular for the side trip of the Annapurna Circuit. It offers stunning views of Annapurna and Gangapurna. Tilicho Lake hiking is challenging but rewarding.
