Royal Chitwan National Park is a preserve area in the lowland area of Nepal lies in the South-Central Nepal in Makwanpur, Nawalpur, Chitwan and Parsa District. It ranges in altitude from 100m to 810 m to Sivalik Hill. Chitwan National Park covers the area 952 Sq km. It is a first national park established in 1973 as a Royal Chitwan National Park and granted the status of Natural world Heritage site in 1984.
Chitwan National Park is known for its wildlife and biodiversity. Its dense forest and grassy lands are the home of some rare mammals like Royal Bengal, one horn rhino. The park is famous for several birds including hornbill. Chitwan National Park is a home of 700 specious of wildlife, butterflies, moth and insect. Every year the bird watcher and conservationist survey birds specious all over the country and they recorded 534 birds in Royal Chitwan National Park.
